Det bliver den 61-årige professor, DPhil Henrik Pedersen, der fra 1. september skal stå i spidsen for Det Tekniske Fakultet for It og Design på Aalborg Universitet.
- Henrik Pedersen har både en solid forskningsmæssig og ledelsesmæssig baggrund, og han har et stort sektorkendskab inden for uddannelse og forskning. Han har den rigtige profil til at kunne varetage de strategiske, organisatoriske, faglige og økonomiske opgaver på fakultetet, siger rektor Per Michael Johansen, Aalborg Universitet.
Det er muligheden for at sætte retningen på et spændende fakultet, der har fået Henrik Pedersen til at søge mod Aalborg.
- Overordnet set har AAU ageret meget imponerende i de seneste år, og universitetet farer opad på ranglisterne. AAU er meget stærk på ingeniørvidenskab, og det særdeles gode samarbejde med erhvervslivet er unikt i Danmark. Derudover er AAU meget tydelig i sin strategi og er meget handlingsorienteret, og det vil jeg gerne være en del af, siger Henrik Pedersen.
Den nuværende dekan på TECH, Eskild Holm Nielsen, blev ansat dekan på TEKNAT i 2010, og i 2014 blev hans kontrakt forlænget med tre år. Han overgår til en stilling som lektor på Institut for Planlægning fra 1. september 2017. Rektor Per Michael Johansen har bedt ham om også at løse opgaver for direktionen og rektoratet i en del af arbejdstiden, så AAU fortsat kan udnytte de kompetencer, han besidder, til gavn for den fælles organisation.
FAKTA - Henrik Pedersen:
- Uddannet cand.scient. fra Københavns Universitet i 1980.
- Blev i 1985 DPhil ved Oxford University, hvorefter han blev ansat som adjunkt på Institut for Matematik og Datalogi på Odense Universitet.
- I 1988 blev han lektor og i 1997 ansat som professor ved Odense Universitet.
- I perioden 2001 til 2006 var han dekan for Det Naturvidenskabelige og Tekniske Fakultet på SDU.
- Fra 2006 til 2015 var han dekan for Det Naturvidenskabelige Fakultet på SDU.
- I de seneste to år har han været ansat på Institut for Matematik og Datalogi på SDU og har samtidig været formand for Nationalt Forum for Forskningsdata Management. Han har i den forbindelse deltaget i flere udvalg om forskningsdata og publikationer under både Kulturministeriet og Uddannelses- og Forskningsministeriet. Han repræsenterer Danmark i EUDAT, Research Data Alliance og Knowledge Exchange.

New Dean at the Technical Faculty of IT and Design
As of 1 September 2017, Professor Henrik Pedersen, DPhil, will become new Dean at the Technical Faculty of IT and Design (TECH) at Aalborg University. He comes from the University of Southern Denmark where he has been employed as dean for 14 years.
As of 1 September 2017, the 61-year-old Professor Henrik Pedersen, DPhil, will lead the Technical Faculty of IT and Design at Aalborg University.
- Henrik Pedersen has a strong background in research and management and a thorough knowledge of the university sector. He has the right profile for fulfilling the strategic, organisational, academic and financial tasks that lie ahead, says Rector Per Michael Johansen.
The opportunity to influence the further development and direction of a faculty was what initially attracted Henrik Pedersen to apply for a position at Aalborg University.
- In general, I am very impressed with how AAU has performed in recent years and with how the University continues to climb the internal rankings. AAU has a strong research tradition within engineering and its cooperation with the business community is very unique. In addition, AAU has a very clear strategy and takes a very action-oriented approach, and I look forward to becoming part of this, says Henrik Pedersen.
The current Dean of the Technical Faculty of IT and Design, Eskild Holm Nielsen, was employed as Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Science in 2010, and in 2014 his employment was extended for a further three years. On 1 September 2017, he will return to a position as associate professor at the Department of Planning. Rector Per Michael Johansen has asked Eskild to continue to solve tasks for the Executive Management as well as the Rector and Pro-rector in order for the entire University to continue to benefit from his expertise.
FACTS - Henrik Pedersen:
- In 1980, he graduated with an MSc from the University of Copenhagen.
- In 1985, he graduated with a DPhil from Oxford University upon which he was employed as assistant professor at the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at Odense University.
- In 1988, he was employed as associate professor, and in 1997, he became professor at Odense University.
- From 2001-2006, he was Dean of the Faculty of Science and Engineering at the University of Southern Denmark.
- From 2006-2015, he was Dean of the Faculty of Science at the University of Southern Denmark.

For the past two years, he has been employed at the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at SDU. During this period, he has also chaired the National Forum for Research Data Management (DM Forum) and has been an active member of several committees on research data and publications under the Ministry of Culture and the Ministry of Higher Education and Science. He represents Denmark in EUDAT, Research Data Alliance and Knowledge Exchange.
